Planning and achievements

OK, we do have a wish list for things we want to achieve for Excellent school. So how far will the money take us? Moore classrooms and fencing in the school is still things we need to do. The ladies also want to give the school money for supplies, but I'm not so sure about this. I've never seen the students work with the notebooks and pens we're bringing them and I am suspicious that they might sell them. That is OK - I would too if I was starving and could sell them to buy some food, but I don't think the donors from Sweden will take this project seriously if they knew that not all the money goes to things that will last, at least for a while. I really think that it's better to try to help with rooms, desks, blackboards and fencing. One day, we'll all be gone and it is better to put some effort into longer lasting projects. I've tried to talk to the ladies about it, but only some of them agree. I always bring notebooks and pens, toiletpaper and lightbulbs to the school, but I buy them with my own money and not with the donor money. A tricky subject that I'll just have to continue talking to all the contributors about! Next step is to get cost estimates in place, so we'll now how far we can get.

Achievements so far.....

Toilets before                     and after

Water pipes before....                     ......... after and                                         during construction

    Blackboards before                                 and after

The old desks and the new, financed by the Swedish society.

Finally, the old floors and the new ones. This classroom was entirely redone to house three rooms and the new toilets.

Pretty good according to me!!
Now we need to identify what the Christmas Campaign can give the school.
