Plans for the summer

This summer is going to be very interesting and exciting. I'm going to find myself in a whole new situation in a (almost) whole new place! I'm going to Washington DC to do a one month long internship in Brookings institution. I was born in Washington DC, but only lived there until I was three. I've been visiting a few times, but I really don't know the place as well as I should! To be able to live and work there for a month will be a great experience.

The Internship is very exciting: I'm going to work in this fantastic institution that is one of Washington's oldest think tanks. Brookings conducts research and education in the social sciences, primarily in economics, metropolitan policy, governance, foreign policy, and global economy and development.
Its stated mission is to "provide innovative and practical recommendations that advance three broad goals: strengthen American democracy; foster the economic and social welfare, security and opportunity of all Americans; and secure a more open, safe, prosperous, and cooperative international system".

It is also going to help me finding new information and sources for my Extended Essay, which is going to be about the relationship between America and Afghanistan. I'm also planning to get facts and information for my Math IA.

During the week ends I plan to visit Universities on the west coast, so even that will be educational. Hopefully, I'll have time for some theatre too. Doing HL drama, it is good to be exposed for some real drama - so I hope that will be enjoyable and also give me some more exposure for my drama class. The last month of the summer break I'm spending with my family in Stockholm, doing absolutely nothing more than hanging our with friends and family and do my research project for Drama and start organizing my math project - so much to do and so little time!
Feeling quite tired after my first IB year - I'm suspecting I'll need some rest as well!

My office this summer- I can't wait!
